Few woods command a room the way Macassar Ebony does. Deep, near-black with dramatic amber and rust striations that seem to glow from within, this handturned bowl is a study in contrast and restraint. The form is clean and confident — a wide, open vessel with gently inward-curving walls that let the figure do the talking.
Turned from one of the most prized and increasingly rare hardwoods in the world, this bowl carries the weight and warmth that only old-growth Macassar Ebony can offer. The finish is smooth and close, bringing out the full depth of the grain without obscuring its natural character.
A significant collector's piece from the Osolnik family — offered directly for the first time.
