We have approximately 700 sq ft of this exceptional veneer which has been on the farm for over 70 years. It is priced at 12.00 per sq ft. This is priced dry for if soften sells from 35-45 per sq ft. It is .039 to .042 thick
It came from D.R. Webb Foreign and Domestic Veneers company out of Edinburg, IN in the early 1950's. These pieces are dry and will need to be soften. Here is a link on how to soften the veneer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ewcr8-5G9w
The "Cat's Paw" Density: Look closely at the swirl patterns. If the sheets are packed tight with dense cluster configurations (referred to in the industry as "cat's paw" figure), the value sky-rockets. The veneer we have is the dense cat's paw. If it looks more like wavy lines with occasional knots, it is considered a "low-figure" burl, which drops the value closer to the lower end of the estimates.
