We will add photos of his work over the years.
Rude started his woodworking life early in his high school years. Being 14 years old in 1929, loosing his father in the same year, along with the start of the depression shaped his life's work ethic. While at Bradley University he spent one summer turning spindles for a local company which he told his sons totaled 10000 units. You can guess what we said.
He obviously did many, for one of his strong points was his eye for form and as any craftsmen will tell you, that only comes from repetition.
Many images will be from items he made before he and Daphne formed Osolnik Originals. These will include wooden turned platers, and furniture he made for the family household.
Our parents only started signing as Osolnik Originals when they were discovered by Hedrich - Blessing's project to honor small up and coming craftsmen.
We hope you will enjoy the images and stories to be added.
Thank you for looking.
